On Monday night Ed and I went for dinner at The Orchard in Brockley. It was our first time there although it’s been on my radar for a while as it was highly recommended by a friend. I was expecting it to be good, solid pub grub but it’s actually a lot better than that – I had the bavette steak with chimichurri sauce and Ed had blackened tuna with puy lentils and vegetables – both absolutely delicious. I also devoured a flourless chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream for dessert which is making me salivate again as I type this. Sadly, I didn’t have the chance to get stuck into the cocktails but the selection on offer were really inventive and tempting.
The Orchard has a nice, friendly ambience and was quite buzzy, even on a Monday night. They’re pleasingly kid friendly, with Ikea high chairs and baby changing facilities and no one seemed to mind Miranda chucking her toys on the floor every two minutes or chewing the menu. We will be back!
